Main Web Series is a short, four-part series that I worked on the fall of 2014 with Attempt Pictures. It was an interesting project because it was such a small undertaking but turned out to be something enjoyed by more than we had initially expected. My primary role on the series was as Director of Photography; for a small project like this that meant a lot more than it usually does. The behind the scenes part was led entirely by Scott Sullivan and myself with some help from Cayce Mell and her children on set. Scott led the creative side as the writer, director, and lead actor. My role was to make sure it was technically sound with the basically nonexistent budget that we had available to us; this meant being the camera operator, my own grip, and later the editor, sound designer, and colorist. The episodes are all available to watch online now at www.mainwebseries.com for free. Each episode takes a life of it's own with very district styles being used separately to tell the story from different perspectives. The plot takes us through a very small span of time-- the three days around this couple moving into an apartment together. So there's not too much of the crazy plot points that many short writers or directors try to pack in. I think it's certainly different from most of my other work, and I don't know if I would have ever written something like this; Scott has a very distinct style and I'll be interested to see what he does next.
You can follow me on Facebook to keep up to date on my work and other Pittsburgh artists that I follow and enjoy. Scott will be making an appearance on our web show, Artists n@, in mid-february; so look out for that!
