The character introduction is a sort of small scene from a bigger story. Within this one scene, the assignment is to develop the character(s) as much as possible through natural dialogue. This short was written and directed by myself. Vincent Barnard and Kira Weaver star alongside Ryan Haggerty. Shot by Zach Heaton and edited by Steven Sensebaugh.
Along with a team from DuBois Business College, I got the opportunity to direct a short film for the 48 Hour Film Project. Making a film in 48 hours was such a rush, and working together with the team made it all worth it.
Daniel! is a short expressionistic film I made during some time off from school.
Scene recreations were an assignment at DuBois Business College. Much like learning to play music by learning covers, the scene recreation assignment allowed us to study our favorite director's styles a methods by emulating them. For mine, I shot and directed two scenes from The Place Beyond The Pines. I also got to shoot Vincent Barnard's scene recreation from the movie Zodiac.
Writer/Director/Actor Vincent Barnard's short film Love Interrupted we made for the 2012 DuBois Creative Minds Film Festival. This was my first time working as cinematographer for Vincent. The film took home the Audience Choice Award at the festival.
